Blogoscopy

James McGovern blogged the other day about a site named Squidoo that allows 'experts' to create mini-websites called 'lenses' that can contain lots of interesting stuff - RSS feeds, links to blogs, text, etc. I gave it a try yesterday, and out of approximately 11K lenses, the one I created for enterprise architecture ranks in the middle, right next to 'Attorney Referrals' and 'Art Quilts.'

Must be some kind of karma for enterprise architects being ranked adjacent to those types of categories...:)

The site looks and feels a lot like Blogger, which led me to believe that this is yet-another-Google-creation (along with the robotic hamburger cookers Mr. Gates referred to at the CES show the other day). My further investigation reveals that the site was started by Seth Godin, the marketing guy I referred to last week. His individual lens has some really interesting stuff in it along the lines of stories and convincing others of one's agenda that I posted last week.

The site is currently in beta, and as usual has all of the AdSense stuff in it. It's worth a look at the lenses folks have created if you're not interested in starting one.

Comments:
I hope to create my own lens shortly. I do think they are onto something though...
